What We Believe

  1. The Bible:     We believe the Bible is God breathed  (II Tim 3:16 i.e.) and given to holy men of God through direct inspiration from the Holy Spirit.  It is absolutely the final authority on all matters.  (Psalm 19: 7-13)  Both Old and New Testament are designed to serve as the ultimate guide for a Christian’s lifestyle and ministry.  The scriptures are unerring; incapable of error, they are not liable to mislead, deceive or disappoint (Pro. 30:5).  The scriptures are complete and should not be added to, change or altered in any way, shape or form.  It is God’s way of revealing his plan and purpose for mankind.  It is the only word of God to us, there are no other Testaments.  It transcends time, place, culture, status in life and is for all human.  Every doctrine, formulation, confession or theology must be put to the test of the full counsel of God in the Holy Scriptures and is dependent upon the illumination of the Holy Spirit and should be sought first of all for application to bring about conviction. (Matt 10:35, Jhn.17:17, I Cor. 2:7-16, Heb. 13: 1-3)

  2. God:     We believe that there is but one true God present in the universe, infinite, eternal, almighty and perfect in truth, holiness and love (Psalm 147:5, 83:18, Heb. 3:4).  God is triune; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, co-existent, co-equal and co-eternal.  Each person of the Godhead holds a distinct office, yet are so perfectly one, in character and harmony that they constitute one God head NOT three Gods ( John 4:24, John 15:26, John 10:30 O.T – Deut. 6:4, Gen 3:22, Gen. 1:26N.T. – Col. 2:9, Matt. 28:19, I Cor. 12:4-6, John 14: 9-10, Eph. 4:4-6, II Cor. 1:14, Act 20:28).  Natural eg. (1) Egg; Albumin, yolk, shell (2) Man; Body, Soul, Spirit.

  3. God the Father:     He infinite in His perfection.  He was not created by anyone, He is self-existent ( John 5:26, Gen 1:1).  He is the source of all creation (Col. 1:16), and by Him the entire creation is sustained.  He is omnipotent (Jer. 23:17).  He is Omnipresent ( Jer. 23:23), Omniscient  (Psalm 139:4).  God’s unfailing love, grace and mercy is the same toward all mankind regardless of colour, race or creed (John 3:16).  He does not have love, He is Love  (I John 4:7-8).  He is the source of our Peace (Isa. 26:3, John 14:27).  He is the total expression of everything good ( James 1:17).

  4. Jesus Christ the Son:     The Bible tells us that whosoever transgresses and abides not in the doctrine of Christ has not God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son; II John 9, John 14:6. This is what separates us from cults; II John 10-11. Jesus always existed, He was not created; Col. 1:13-17, John 1:1-4. He was manifested in the flesh by means of a virgin birth; Luke 1:27-32. Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. Jesus has always existed and is equal to God. He was the word made flesh, supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin Mary, and was perfect in everything. Jesus:Died on the cross, became the propitiation (the only pleasing sacrifice to God) for the sins of the whole world; I John 2:2.Was buriedRose from the dead with a glorified body, triumphing over all the forces of evil, Ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the FatherAnd will return in all his glory. He is the head of the church and is the full and final revelation of God.Is 9:6-7, John 10:30, Heb. 1:8, Col. 1:16-17, John 1:10, John 8:38, Phil 2:6, I John 5:20, Titus 2:13,Heb. 1:3, John 1:18.

  5. The Holy Spirit:     The Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost is not an “It” – He is God; John 14:26, Eph. 4: 4-6, I Cor. 12: 4-6. He serves as the power of God in the universe – Luke 24:49, Acts 1:8. The Holy Spirit convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment to come – Jhn. 16-8. Through faith He unites man to God through Christ Jesus this is called the new birth – I Cor. 5:17. He dwells within those who are re-generated/Born Again – Rom 8:9, producing in them the fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is He who teaches the things of God – Jhn. 14:24. He inspires men and women of God to accomplish God’s will in the earth – Phl. 2:13, Rom 8:11, II Pet 1:20-21. He gives life to the word of God and completes the Church and it is He who will raise those who die in Christ from the dead at the second coming; Jhn 6:63, Rom 8:11.

  6. That God Made Man:     The idea to create man originated with God and was executed by God (man did not evolve) Gen 1:26. Both male and female were created by God as the highest created being in the universe Psalm 8:5-6. As a result man was given total dominion over the earth Gen: 1:28. Our place of dominion is and will always be the earth, not heaven – Psalm 115:16. We were fashioned in the image and likeness of God. We were given an assignment by God to be fruitful and multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it. Man was to be God’s representative in the earth – Gen. 1:27-28. However man had restrictions – Gen 2:17.

  7. Fall of Man:     Man was created to have total dominion over the earth and all God’s creation – Gen 1:28. All this was changed because of Adam’s high treason; his failure to obey his creator resulted in broken fellowship with God and him losing his position. This came about because God did not restrict Adam’s ability to choose, so Adam chose to obey Satan rather than God – Gen 3:1-24. Because of sin man has found himself in a fallen state and is now subjected to death and decay. He took on the nature of the one he chose to obey – the Devil. The sin nature has been passed unto all mankind, thus all have sinned – Rom 5:12. Man has sinned and is totally incapable of redeeming himself, so man is lost and hopeless apart from Salvation in Jesus Christ – John 4:12, John 14:6.

  8. Salvation:     Was sought by God, brought by God and wrought by God. It is provided solely by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ, by acknowledging our sins and turning to God with a repentant heart believing on the finished work of Jesus Christ and confessing Jesus as Lord of our lives man is born again into everlasting life by the Holy Spirit. There is no other name by which man can be saved. Rom 10:9-10, Eph. 2:8-9, Rom 5:1, Acts 4:12, I Pet 2:24, I John 2:2.

  9. Baptism in the Holy Spirit:     The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a definite work of God’s grace, it is available to all those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. The promise of the Holy Spirit empowering believers was not only for the early disciples but to the generations that would follow even to you and I; Acts 2:38-39. It is a supernatural endowment accompanied by speaking in other tongues; Acts 2:1-4, Acts 10:46, Acts 19:6. It enables the believer to exercise the power of God in their personal lives and ministry; Acts: 1:8, Luke 24:49. There is nothing we can do to earn it, God promises to give it to all who asks; Acts 1:4, Luke 11: 11-13. All the gifts of the Spirit are given through the infilling of the Holy Spirit; I Cor. 12:1-11. These gifts are given to the Church.

  10. The Church:     The Church is not a building but is the body and bride of our Lord Jesus Christ. Any one who accepts Jesus as Lord becomes a part of the Church. Therefore the Church is universal and without limits, regardless of age, race, colour, creed or language. The church is dedicated to worship and the continuation of the word of Christ in the earth. First and foremost the redemption of souls, teaching and disciplining of all nation, the observing of ordinances of the Baptism and the Lord’s Supper and to occupy the earth till the time appointed for His return. Matt 16:13-18, Eph. 1:22-23, John 3:16, Acts 20:28.

  11. Ordinances:     We believe that there are two main ordinances given to the church that we should continue until the end of the church age. These are:Water Baptism and (b) The Lord’s Supper/Breaking of Bread/CommunionWater Baptism – we believe that water baptism is not a prerequisite for salvation but is necessary for all believers. Water Baptism is full immersion into water in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, identifying with Him in His death, burial and resurrection. –Acts 8:12, 16:32-34, 18:8.The Lord’s Supper/Breaking of Bread/Communion – we believe that we can break bread at any time in the remembrance of our Lord and it should be done by the sacred use of bread and wine with those who have accepted Jesus as Lord & Saviour. The bread represents His body broken for us and the wine represents His blood of the New Covenant. – I Cor. 11:23-26, Luke 22:13-20.

  12. The Second Coming:     The consummation of all things includes the visible, personal and glorious return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The resurrection of the dead in and out of Christ and the translation of those alive in Christ. The judgment of the just and the unjust and the fulfillment of Christ’s Kingdom in the new heaven and the new earth. Satan with his entire host and all men outside of Christ finally separated from the presence of God enduring everlasting punishment. While those who have been redeemed from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of light remains in the presence of God, praise and glory forever and ever, amen. II Thes. 1: 7-10, Rom. 21: 1-4, Acts 1:11, Rev. 1:7, I Thes. 4:13-18, Jhn. 5:28-29, Matt 24:30-31, Rev. 22:11.
